Client: Skanska Plc for Oxfordshire County Council
This work consisted of improvements to an existing 500m of dual carriageway on the A423, Oxford ring road, including a new ‘Hamburger’ Roundabout. We installed new pedestrian road crossings, manholes, access chambers, ducting for traffic lights and street lighting and carried out waterproofing work to existing bridges. Before work started, we were instructed to carry out ‘Grassland Translocation’, this involved scraping the surface of a grassy area with rare orchid bulbs and other plant species, and moving it on a hiab lorry to the adoptive area.
Project cost: £1.6m
